Three ANAC planning initiatives are underway
following ANAC's June Leadership Conference (See Summer Bulletin):
an international program planning group chaired by Janet Rasmussen
and Jim Pence of Pacific Lutheran University; an ANAC Academy
planning group (for faculty/staff professional development), chaired
by Steve Good, Drury University, and Linda McMillin, Susquehanna
University; and a Woodrow Wilson Summer Institute planning group
convened by Jerry Berberet. The work of the three planning groups
will come to fruition next summer at meetings associated with the
Woodrow Wilson Summer Institute, to be held at Hampton University,
June 18-21, 2003.
Once again, the US News & World Report college rankings,
released September 13, reflect a high regard for ANAC member colleges
and universities. Among the highlights, Valparaiso University
is once again ranked the #1 Master's institution in the Midwest,
a region where seven ANAC members appear among the top fifteen Master's
institutions. Equally significant, members ranked high in the Best
Value Masters category, where Drury was #1, Valparaiso
#2, and Drake University #4 in the Midwest and University
of Redlands #2 in the West. Fall admissions reports are incomplete,
but several ANAC members are experiencing significant enrollment
increases. Belmont University, for example, reports a growth
of 6.8% in numbers of students above last year.
