The University of Redlands is a private liberal arts and sciences university
with 42 undergraduate majors—including student-designed degrees through
the unique Johnston Center. Since its founding in 1907, the University has
been committed to a mission that emphasizes academic rigor, personal
development and interdisciplinary studies. Students and alumni take viewers
throughout the 103-year-old university in a popular new campus tour
video—a journey based on a real-life Redlands Campus tour, with a hip-hop
twist. |

Large century-old trees the University of Redlands has committed to preserving
dot the verdant 160-acre campus. It’s one of the reasons the University
has been recognized as a Tree Campus by the Arbor Day Foundation, one of
just three other colleges or universities in California. Redlands is also on the
inaugural list of “The Princeton Review’s Guide to 286 Green Campuses.” |

A 21st Century Campus: Redlands students learn in new, state-of-the art
facilities for science, environmental studies and mathematics—also the home
for an intensive summer science research program where students work
side-by-side with professors on significant research projects. It’s a program
that has produced science students who have garnered selective Goldwater
Scholarships in recent years. |

A new place to study and gather. Students from Redlands undergraduate
programs or the professional programs offered through the School of
Business or School of Education can take advantage of a recently remodeled
and expanded library. Our size provides all students with a deeply caring
and supportive learning environment, with smaller classes and innovative
study opportunities, both here and abroad. |

At the University of Redlands, students don’t just think and learn locally.
In the past three years, seven students have been named prestigious
Fulbright scholars, allowing them to research or teach in Germany, Morocco
and Taiwan. Faculty and staff create a culture of elevated learning, where
students transform themselves to go forth and effect positive change. |

Not only new buildings for the sciences, the Center for the Arts was unveiled
in early 2010 as the latest transformative effort on this liberal arts and
sciences campus. The state-of-the-art complex provides students a new
space to create and a consolidated home for all of the arts and theatre
arts programs and activities. The Frederick Loewe Black Box theatre
supports a variety of audience/performer relationships and more innovative,
developmental and experimental theatre works. |
